The Port of New Orleans will temporarily close the St. Claude Avenue Bridge beginning Thursday, May 10 through Sunday, May 20, 2018, to perform minor mechanical structure repairs and replacements.
No vehicular, bicycle or pedestrian traffic will be able to cross over the St. Claude Avenue Bridge during the construction. Marine traffic will continue to pass normally. The alternate routes to travel during the closure is the Claiborne and Florida Avenue Bridges. The map of the detour routes is attached to this advisory.
These repairs are to ensure the safety of the approximate 20,000+ motorists that travel this bridge daily. Motorists are encouraged to pay close attention when approaching the work zone, obey the posted speed limits, work zone signs and allow extra time to reach their destinations safely.
