First Graders at Arlene Meraux Elementary School have been studying Careers in Social Living Class. They read numerous books to gain background knowledge on a plethora of careers. They interviewed their parents to find out what was the hardest and best parts of their parents’ careers. They also created a class book on career and titled it “Careers are Important.” Each child created a page for the book. Then, as a culminating activity, students came to school dressed as a career they would like to be when they grow up. They also gave a presentation stating at least two reasons why they would like to have that job. It was a wonderful day!
