Candidates’ forum set for October 18 in Council Chambers

A forum has been set for Thursday, Oct. 18 at 6 p.m. in the Parish Council Chambers for candidates on Tuesday, Nov. 6 ballot for elections in St. Bernard Parish.

The forum is open to the public and is sponsored by the St. Bernard Parish Democratic Executive Committee.

All candidates on the ballot are invited to speak and answer questions.

The Nov. 6 ballot includes elections for:

  • U.S. Representative for the 1st Congressional District
  • A statewide race for Secretary of State
  • A parish-wide race for 34th Judicial District Court, Division D, in St. Bernard Parish
  • And parish School Board races for Districts 5, 9 and 10.

Early voting for the elections starts on Tuesday, Oct. 23 and runs through Tuesday, Oct. 30 at the Registrar of Voters Office on the first floor in the parish government building in Chalmette.

The office, open 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the voting, is closed on Sunday, Oct. 28.
