St. Bernard Parish Recreation Department wrapped up the Volleyball Season with championship games this past week.
The Kenilworth Knights 5-7-year-old girls brought home the championship trophy as they defeated the number one seed Versailles Cardinals Black Team.
The Champions for the 8-10-year-old are standing along at the top; the Kenilworth Knights volleyball team defeated the Borgnemouth Braves in two straight sets to win the Championship on this past Saturday morning. Kenilworth Knights were the second seed in the Championship game, but they managed to upset the number one seed Borgnemouth Braves, as the Knights brought home the Championship trophy.
In the 11-14-year-old, the number one seed Carolyn Park Hornets (Gold) hosted the number two seed Borgnemouth Braves, as this game went down to the wire. It took three games for the Hornets to finally put the Braves away, but the Braves didn’t go down without putting up a tough fight.
The season is now over, but we would like to see everyone out on Wednesday night at Val Riess to support our Recreation All-Star teams as they display their talents on the Volleyball court. There will be a $2 Admission Fee for all-star games to pay for officials and t-shirts.
