Solid Waste Removal Update for St. Bernard Parish

St. Bernard Parish Government officials have announced the selection of IV Waste to manage the Parish’s curbside garbage collection and waste removal.

Under the three-year agreement, Torres’ IV Waste will collect garbage twice weekly servicing residential and Parish owned properties. IV Waste will provide all labor, equipment, and materials necessary for St. Bernard’s Municipal Solid Waste Removal Services and Curb Side Collection. The company will also provide various dumpster services for residential and/or commercial waste.

St. Bernard Parish Government would like to remind residents that beginning March 1st IV Waste will start to pick-up residential garbage. However, Pelican Waste will continue to pick-up waste throughout the Parish until this date. Please be aware, Pelican Waste will be dumping IV Waste carts for those residents that have already received one until March 1st. Pelican Waste will be removing blue carts beginning February 17th. All blue carts should be placed upside down and curbside for removal.

As of today, approximately 7,000 new IV Waste carts have been delivered. On average, 1,200 to 1,500 new IV Waste carts will be dropped-off daily. Carts will be delivered west from Arabi to eastern St. Bernard. For those residents in need of handicap stickers, they will be dispersed prior to March 1st.

Please visit sbpg.net, the St. Bernard Parish Government Facebook Page and monitor Press Releases for information pertaining to the process of delivery and removal of carts.
