She and her husband moved to Bear St. in Arabi in 1990 where she resided until Katrina hit in 2005. Her journey places her in Pearl River, La until she was able to receive a trailer to live in Chalmette in 2007 where she later moved in with her son and daughter in 2008 where she has enjoyed living close to her family and friends. She has also been a parishioner of Christ Luthern Church since 2007 and misses seeing everyone.

She was blessed celebrating her 100 birthday with her children and grandchildren with a fried fish dinner from Today’s Ketch, cake, ice cream, and a drive-by parade with many family and friends.
