A ribbon cutting was held on September 24, 2020, for the opening of the new Golden Drive bridge. The project was funded by FEMA, engineered by All-South Engineering and constructed by BuckTown Contractors. The budget for the project was $692,000.
In attendance for the ribbon-cutting was: Tim Bonura – All-South Engineers; Representative Ray Garofalo; Parish President Guy McInnis; Heather Stansbury – PD Consulting; Rosemary Gioia – Golden Dr. resident; Kerri Callais – Council at Large – East; Elizabeth Dauterive – St. Bernard Chamber; and Arthur Yves – St. Bernard Chamber.
