St. Bernard Parish Special Olympics recently received an unexpected charitable grant of $25,000 from the Valero Benefit for Children, despite the cancellation of the Valero Texas Open golf tournament and associated events.
Supervisor of Special Olympics Cheramie Kerth thanked Valero for their continued support and said this was just another example of our community stakeholders continuing to help our school system build bridges.
“St. Bernard Parish Special Olympics is recognized throughout the state as a premier program in great part because of our community partners like Valero,” Kerth said. “These monies will go to helping ensure the program continues to shine a bright light on all our special Olympians.”
