St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home & Gardens Recognizes Faculty And Staff At St. Bernard Parish Schools

Throughout May, St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home & Gardens delivered snowballs to faculty and staff at five elementary and middle schools in St. Bernard Parish in recognition of their hard work and dedication to school students and families during an unprecedented 2020-2021 academic year. Established in 1965, St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home & Gardens holds a long-standing commitment to caring for the local community in difficult times, yet also values celebrating those who make a positive impact on others’ lives.

“We wanted to give back to our community, who has supported us for so many years. Our beloved teachers have gone over and beyond this year to provide local children with a sense of normalcy and deserve recognition and appreciation for their commitment to their profession,” said Kelly Barnhart, funeral director at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home & Gardens. “Something as simple as a snowball break during the workday lifts spirits and brings the school staff together – and community is what we are all craving right now.”

While May 4 was National Teacher Appreciation Day, the staff at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home & Gardens felt that one day of celebration was not enough given the challenges of the global pandemic, which is why they chose to celebrate all month long by delivering snowballs to the following five schools:

  • Andrew Jackson Middle School
  • Joseph J. Davies Elementary School
  • Meraux Elementary School
  • Arabi Elementary School
  • J.F. Gauthier Elementary School

“You guys are amazing for recognizing the hard work and dedication that my incredible Davies team gives on a daily basis,” said Tiffani Bruno-Glapion, principal of Joseph J. Davies Elementary School. “They truly loved this super special treat!”
