Call for Chefs put out for competitors for the 2025 cook-off
Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser and the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board today officially announced the Northshore as the location for the 18th Annual Louisiana Seafood Cook-Off (LASCO). This year’s competition moves to The Harbor Center in Slidell, our venue partner, on Friday, June 27, 2025. This will be the first time the competition is held on the Northshore. Additionally, the official call for competing chefs is being made.
“We are excited to hold this outstanding competition on the Northshore as we continue to share this amazing culinary event with everyone in the state. Louisiana is a place where you can Feed Your Soul, and what better way than by cooking up some of the best seafood in the world found right here in Louisiana,” said Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser.
In addition to earning the title of King or Queen of Louisiana Seafood, the winner will
represent the state at a variety of events, including the Great American Seafood Cook-Off, hosted by the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board and held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans during the Louisiana Restaurant Association Showcase on Saturday, August 2.
The 18th Annual Louisiana Seafood Cook-Off kicks off a season of flavor on the Northshore, launching the 8th Annual Tammany Taste of Summer, running August 1-31.
For the entire month of August, restaurants across St. Tammany Parish will be serving up exclusive dining deals showcasing the region’s rich culinary scene – from fresh Gulf seafood to decadent local dishes.
As an added treat, the Louisiana Seafood Cook-Off will feature tastings from 15 participating Tammany Taste of Summer restaurants, offering attendees a delicious preview of the month-long culinary celebration. Whether you’re a foodie or just hungry for something new, this is your chance to savor the best of the Northshore.
“Tammany Taste of Summer is our way of celebrating the incredible culinary talent here in St. Tammany Parish while inviting locals and visitors alike to explore, indulge, and support our restaurant community,” said Donna O’Daniels, president and CEO of Visit The Northshore. “We’re especially grateful to Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser and the Louisiana Seafood Board for their partnership and for bringing the Louisiana Seafood Cook-Off to the Northshore, where food, flavor, and hospitality are always on the menu.”
