Linadine “Deanie” Gaudet Luc entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at her residence in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 76. She was born on Friday, August 15, 1941 in Raceland, Louisiana to the late Gates Guidroz Gaudet and Camille Leonard Gaudet. She was a long-time resident of Chalmette, Louisiana until August, 2005.
Deanie is survived by her beloved children: son, Dale M. Luc, Jr. (Jim DuBois), daughter, Connie Luc Collins (Charles Ricord, Sr.), daughter, Donna Luc Papania (Nick Suer), daughter, Karen Luc Long (Richard), and son, Jeffrey C. Luc, Sr. (Lisa); her adoring grandchildren, Dale Luc, III, Ashley L. McKnight, William Diaz, Jr. (Crystal), Brandy Lynn Diaz (Kendrick), Amy Diaz (Sean Sr.), Melburn “BJ” Johnston, Jr. (Rikki), Amy Long-Desselle (Kenny), Ryan Johnston, Mandi Luc, Leonard Luc, Jr., Nikki Luc, Jessica Luc, Jeffrey Luc, Jr. (Nadia), and Jason Luc; great-grandchildren, Savannah Saucier, Madison McKnight, Payton McKnight, Tré Leidinger, Devin Diaz, Aubree Diaz, Zander Diaz, Jessie Hauptmann, Jr., Craig Berthelot, Hannah Berthelot, Brycen Diaz, Sean Kinkella, Jr., Cameron Kinkella, Shyannah Diaz, Ava Johnston, Brianna Craig, Camden Johnston, Caison Gilbert, Riley Powers, and Brody Allen; great great-grandchild, Braxton Leidinger; and sister, Gail G. Haley (Patrick). Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Leonard “Lenny” Fred Luc, Sr.; two granddaughters, Jamie Diaz and Misty Johnston; parents, Camille and Gates Gaudet; brother, Ronald Gaudet, Sr.; and three sisters, Norma G. Kennair, Dolores Gaudet, and Marilyn G. Rholdon. Deanie worked at C.F. Rowley School, McKenzie Pastry Factory, Duncan Donuts, and for 13 years at Chalmette Medical Center in food service, prior to her retirement.
Deanie was a giver. She had a big kind heart. She always put her family and friends first, before her own needs. She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service in the chapel of Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 North Morrison Blvd., Hammond, Louisiana on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue until 11:00 a.m.
Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum, New Orleans, Louisiana.
