St. Bernard Art Guild Fall Art Show

CALLING ALL ARTISTS! The St. Bernard Art Guild Fall Art Show will be held from October 14-20, 2017 at Studio Inferno, 6601 St. Claude Ave., Arabi, LA.

Registration will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017 5:00-7:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 14, 2017 9:00-11:00 a.m. Private judging will be in the afternoon of Saturday, October 14th. This year’s Awards and Reception will be Saturday, October 14th from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m., with awards presentation at 6:00 p.m. Artwork will be on display at Studio Inferno for one week. On Saturday morning, October 21st, all Artwork will be taken down and must be picked up between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

Categories: Art Under Glass; Art Not Under Glass; Photography; Three Dimensional

Awards: Chalmette Refining, LLC – Best of Show Award and $125; 1st Place – $100 & ribbon; 2nd Place – $75 & ribbon; 3rd Place – $50 & ribbon and 3 Honorable Mention ribbons in each category.

Specialty Awards: “Best of….” Medallions will be awarded for the following: Landscape, Maritime, Spiritual, Children’s Theme, Floral, Still Life, Portrait, Wildlife, Abstract, and St. Bernard Theme.

Entry Fee: $5 (members) each piece and $10 (non-members). No limit on entries. Artist may join the St. Bernard Art Guild ($25) at the Show for member discount. Membership Forms will be available at the registration table.

Any oversized Three Dimensional artworks must have own base and be able to be installed by the artist. SBAG members will not lift or install heavy artworks. Artists must be 18 or older by October 14, 2017 to enter this show. Artists who have failed to follow rules in previous St. Bernard exhibits are ineligible. The category assignment of each entry will be determined by the Exhibit Committee. The decision of the Exhibit Committee is final.

All entries must be properly framed with screw eyes and picture wire firmly attached. POSITIVELY NO SAWTOOTH HANGERS WILL BE ACCEPTED! Gallery wrapped canvases are acceptable, provided the sides of the canvas are finished and there are no exposed staples or hardware. All Artwork must be dry – NO WET PAINT! All 2-D artworks and photographs must be capable of being hung as per above guidelines.Each entry must contain the following information: Artist’s name, phone number, title, and price or NFS.

Artworks that have previously won Best of Show, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place in any St. Bernard Art Guild show may not be entered. Artwork that has won Honorable Mention or Plaque/Medallion awards may be re-entered. No entry may be entered into any Guild show more than twice. No fees will be charged by SBAG for artworks sold during the show.

ALL ENTRIES MUST BE THE ORIGINAL CREATION OF THE ARTIST. Crafts made from kits or art duplicated in workshops will not be accepted. The greatest care is exercised in the handling of the entries, but neither the Guild nor Studio Inferno assume responsibility for any damage or loss of entries. Only the Exhibit Committee Members are allowed to hang artwork and remove artwork. We ask that works remain on display; however, removal for sale is acceptable. Entries will remain on display until the close of Exhibit.
