Richard Tamor

Richard Tamor passed away peacefully at 1:36 p.m. at his home surrounded by family on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at the age of 93. Beloved husband of the late Golda Perez Tamor. Loving father of Richard J. Tamor (Janet). Son of the late Mathieu Tamor and Florence Schulz Tamor. Brother of Ronald “Ronnie” Tamor, Elise Hoschar, Lucille “Minnie” Guerra and the late Inez Serpas, Walter Tamor, Theresa “Tessie” Stanley, Josephine “Billie” Haynes, Sebastian “Bappy”, Raymond Tamor and Louise Blocker. Brother-in-Law of Linda Tamor and Lettie Tamor. Proud grandfather of Brent Tamor (Brandi). Also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Richard was born on August 29, 1924 and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish. He was a decorated United States Army veteran and proudly served his country. Richard enjoyed being outdoors gardening and hunting. He treasured spending time with his family & friends and swinging on his front porch. He will be forever remembered and deeply missed by all who knew him.

Relatives, friends, employees of Boh Brothers Construction and members of Local Union 1846 are invited to attend a visitation to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest with military honors in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery, St. Bernard, LA.
