Jeffrey Barnes Fussell

Jeffrey Barnes Fussell passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2017, at the age of 46. He was the beloved son of James “Barney” Fussell Jr. and Sally Copping Fussell. Brother of Mark Fussell (Stacie). Grandson of Ruth Copping and the late Lawrence J. Copping, James Fussell and Rhetta Fussell. He is also survived and fondly remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends.

Jeff was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish where he turned his longtime passion for cooking into a rewarding career with several highly regarded restaurants, most recently with Café Amelie. His passion for cooking was surpassed only by his faith in his Lord and Savior. Jeff truly enjoyed life through his love for family and friends, along with his ministry work which most notably included feeding the homeless in the French Quarter. He was well loved and affectionately known for his good nature and generous heart. He will be forever remembered as a loving and loyal son, brother, and a friend of many, who loved the Lord and treasured his family and friends. He tried hard to make the world a better place for those around him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, November 11th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service in Jeffrey’s memory beginning at 1:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
