Rosalie “Lee” Michel Foght passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 26, 2017, at the age of 88. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Charles F. Foght III. Loving mother of Darlene Foght Aucoin (Michael) and Steven C. Foght (Nicole). Beloved daughter of the late Anthony “Tony” Michel and Gladys Newman Michel. Proud grandmother of Bonnie Rimkus Burlett, Daniel Aucoin, Chad Gervais, Stephanie Foght Robichaux, Nicholas Foght and Samantha Foght. She is also survived and fondly remembered by her 7 great-grandchildren, along with many cousins, relatives, and dear friends.
Rosalie was born in New Orleans, LA and was a resident of St. Bernard Parish for 52 years and settled in Hammond, LA following Hurricane Katrina. She enjoyed a career with the Geo. Wm. Rueff Co. in New Orleans, LA for over 30 years and was a longtime member of the Jolly Jacks Social and Carnival Club. She was well loved and will always be remembered for her dedication to her family, her loving spirit, her laughter, and spoiling the grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, November 4, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service in Rosalie’s memory beginning at 1:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
